Sep 29, 2021 | 1:15 PM

The Meadow Lake RCMP reportedly made several arrests last week in relation to firearm and suspected gang violence.

On Sept. 20, police responded to a complaint of gunshots targeting a residence on Seventh Avenue West. While on scene, officials collected evidence which is said to have led to an arrest.

The incident is believed to be gang motivated, rather than a random attack.

On Sept. 25, RCMP were dispatched to a local hotel at 5 a.m. for a man said to be suffering from multiple stab wounds. A 26-year-old victim was transported to Royal University Hospital with serious injuries.

A 16-year-old youth was arrested in connection to both incidents and is set to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court.

Additionally, a 24-year-old female and a 19-year-old male have also been charged in relation to the Sept. 25 incident. Both will appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court.

Investigations into both incidents are still underway.
