Upcoming La Ronge byelection to be four-way race

Four residents have put their name forward in a byelection for a councillor position in La Ronge.
Former councillors Matt Klassen and Glen Watchel have both submitted their names, as well as Robert Pacey Sr. and Ronald James Warner. Both Klassen and Watchel unsuccessfully ran to be mayor of La Ronge in November 2020.
The final date to submit nomination forms for the byelection was Oct. 26 with the voting set for Nov. 30. The councillor position opened after Coun. Hugh Watt, 58, suddenly passed away in August.
Current members of council include Mayor Colin Ratushniak, Deputy Mayor Jordan McPhail, as well as councillors Abby Besharah, Joe Hordsyki, Viviana Ruiz-Arcand and Ryan Veteri.
