Nov 17, 2021 | 9:34 AM

Residents in the Battlefords region will gather this weekend to honour missing and murdered Indigenous persons.

Saskatchewan RCMP detachments are hosting their fourth Feast & Round Dance. This is kicked off with gathering for the Sacred Fire at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The fire will be lit around sunrise at the Alex Dillabough Centre, which will be outdoors and open to the public.

On Saturday, the Feast will begin at Alex Dillabough in the afternoon at 2 p.m., with the Round Dance taking place at 7 p.m. in the Centre. Due to COVID-19 concerns, this portion is closed to the public, going by invitation only.

However, those who want to join virtually can pray at 2 p.m. and dance at 7 p.m. from home. Anyone doing so can share photos and videos of sharing a meal and dancing on social media accounts, using the hashtag #MMIPRCMPRoundDance.
