Hawks host Estevan Tuesday
The Nipawin Hawks are back on home ice Tuesday after picking up an overtime win and shootout loss in Melville and Yorkton on the weekend.
The Estevan Bruins visit the Centennial Arena for the first time this season. The teams met in Estevan back on Oct. 16, the Bruins won the contest 4-1. The Hawks sport a record of 10 wins, 11 losses in regulation and four losses in a shootout including Saturday’s 1-0 loss against the Terriers. The Bruins hold the best winning percentage in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) at .760, Estevan is second overall behind Humboldt but has played two less games than the Broncos.
Hawks Head Coach Doug Johnson said the team is excited for the challenge.
“It’s great. They are supposedly one of the most skilled teams in Canada, they are hosting the Centennial Cup. It’s going to be a great test for our guys,” Johnson said.
