Some Battlefords area charity and non-profit organizations are getting a helping hand of support from a local business.

TD Canada Trust Region recently made a gift of $1,500 each to the Battlefords Interval House women’s shelter and the Battlefords Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP).

The company also gave $1,000 to the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs Inc. for the Miwasin Kikinaw Battlefords homeless shelter.

TD Canada Trust Region previously gave $1,000 to the local food bank for a total combined gift to the community of $5,000.

Battlefords Interval House executive director Debbie Kovalsky said the contribution to the women’s shelter is appreciated.

“We were running short on personal supply items so we will be applying the funds to shampoo, conditioner, body wash, Body Scrubbies, children’s body wash, children’s shampoo, [and] children’s bath toys…,” she said. “We are so very grateful to the TD bank for their support.”

The Miwasin Kikinaw Battlefords homeless shelter also plans to use their donation towards purchasing needed personal care items for clients to use.
