Man facing attempted murder charge after incident in Hall Lake

A man from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Hall Lake.

According to an RCMP media release, on Dec. 28, 2021 at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers from La Ronge were dispatched to a report of a serious assault at a residence in Hall Lake.

The investigation determined an adult male attended the residence and threatened the occupants, then assaulted an individual inside. That individual was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP do not have an update on their condition.

Quintin Ross, 20, of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band was arrested without incident at the residence. He has been charged with one count of attempted murder, assault with weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, and failing to comply with probation order.

He will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Jan. 6, 2022.
