RCMP Report: Battleford 16-year-old missing

Jan 6, 2022 | 2:30 PM

Battlefords RCMP are looking for 16-year-old Isaac Threefingers.

The Battleford teenager was reported missing Monday evening. Sgt. Neil Tremblay said they’re hoping to locate him soon given his age and the weather conditions, adding that Threefingers ran off on his own accord.

“He’s expected to be somewhere here in town,” Tremblay said.

Last seen wearing all black, Threefingers stands about 5-9, with short black hair.

Of the eight missing person calls from the past week, Threefingers is the only active case.

Three robberies

Among the 423 calls for service over the past week from Dec. 29, 2021 through to Jan. 4, the detachment had five break and enter investigations, three of which reportedly resulted in theft.

The first occurred at a storage shed at a rural location in the RM of North Battleford on Dec. 29. One suspect fled the scene in a red pickup truck after causing damage to the structure and is suspected of stealing tools and ammunition.

On Tuesday, suspects reportedly broke into a compound on Gagne Avenue in North Battleford around 9:00 p.m., taking a 1995 Green Chevrolet K/V 10/1500 (Sask License 927-IWB). A stolen Chevrolet 1500 was recovered at the scene.

The third was at a business on the 1200 block of 100th Street sometime between Jan. 1-2. Collector coins were reportedly taken.

Vehicle thefts lessen, but continue

While the rash of cars and trucks being stolen over the holidays has died down somewhat, there were still 14 calls this week. Four under investigation include:

  • A black home build utility trailer (Sask License 031-LUF) reported stolen from the 2600 block of 100th Street on Dec. 30.
  • A white 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 reported stolen from the 200 block of 33rd Street in Battleford, sometime in the early morning of Dec. 30.
  • A red 1995 GMC K/V 3500 Diesel (Sask License 228-LKB) reported stolen in the early morning hours of Dec. 31 from the 1200 block of 110th Street.
  • A blue 1993 Chevrolet 1500 (Sask License 324-LPX) reported stolen on Jan. 4 from the 1800 block of 102nd Street.

Tremblay said the detachment is looking into whether these are related.

“It looks like a handful might be connected with other [stolen vehicles] being dumped nearby,” he said.

A 22-year-old male arrested and charged with possession of stolen property after the recovery of a stolen vehicle on the 1200 block of 107th Street. He was released and appears in court on Jan. 24.

Assault under investigation

On the 1100 block of 100th Street Tuesday evening, two female suspects were witnessed attempting to steal merchandise and one suspect assaulted an employee attempting to confront them before fleeing. One suspect reportedly left the scene in a red truck with a silver toolbox in the back while the other left in a white sedan.

The victim sustained a minor head injury which did not require medical attention. Tremblay said the matter is still under investigation.

“We’re hoping to secure some surveillance video,” he said.

Other cases

Police arrested and charged two people for impaired driving this past week. The first was a 50-year-old woman who struck a parked vehicle on the 1400 block of 109th Street on Jan. 1 and will appear in court on Feb. 28.

The second occurred on 110th Street Monday morning where police attempted a vehicle stop and the car fled. After having hit a ditch on Forest Hall Road, the driver tried fleeing on foot, but was arrested promptly.

In addition to impaired driving, 26-year-old Troy Swiftwolfe is charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, flight from police, identity fraud and resisting arrest. He was also found in violation of his parole and appeared in court on Tuesday.

Other calls for service included 14 Mental Health investigations, 13 traffic collisions and 18 various traffic charges.

Anyone with information on any incident can call the Battlefords RCMP detachment, 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
