Battlefords Search and Rescue Recruiting New Members

Jan 7, 2022 | 9:52 AM

Battlefords Search and Rescue is currently recruiting new members from the local community that may have an interest in volunteering for our local Search and Rescue chapter.

Battlefords Search and Rescue (BSAR) is a member of Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers (SARSAV), an organization which just celebrated its 25th year in Saskatchewan.

BSAR is activated by request of the RCMP through the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to assist with searches in western Saskatchewan.

BSAR also trains twice per month and in 2021, members logged just under 2000 combined hours of training, admin, community events, and preventative search & rescue presentations.

BSAR will be holding three “Information Nights” where members of the community can come out and learn about Battlefords SAR, who we are, how we began, time commitment and what is required to join.

Two of the meetings will be virtual (Zoom platform) and one will be held at the Battlefords Wildlife Federation.
