The Prince Albert SPCA is taking part in the Betty White Challenge.

The late actress and comedian passed away on Dec. 31, 2021, just 17 days away from turning 100.

For her birthday, people across the globe are encouraging people to donate to one of her biggest loves: animals.

“It’s really spreading all over social media, spreading like wildfire, so hopefully a lot of people take part in it,” said Laura Goodwin, Adoptions Manager at the P.A. SPCA.

The group is taking part in the challenge, accepting donations on behalf of White. Over the past couple of days, they’ve been able to raise around $400.

Goodwin told paNOW they also have a busy day for adoptions.

So far, eight animals are expected to move into their forever homes.

“If I get any other phone calls and I can fit them in, I sure will.”

This isn’t a crazy number of adoptions as Goodwin added a good day in her books is finding homes for 10 of their animals.

Meanwhile, those who want to donate to the P.A. SPCA can do so through their website or social media.

Those who want to adopt an animal can set up an appointment. Goodwin is reminding those who want to home a new pet should only do it if they’re 100 per cent committed and not just because of the challenge.
