107 active COVID cases linked to Prince Albert Correctional, confirms government

The Ministry of Corrections is confirming that as of Monday afternoon there were 107 active COVID cases connected to the Prince Albert Correctional Centre.

This represents a jump from just two cases on Jan. 7, and among the provincial institutions, is the second highest number. Saskatoon Correctional has 138 active case.

Of the active cases at the Prince Albert jail are 36 staff members and 71 inmates.

There are 11 active cases at Pine Grove (10 staff); and four at the Prince Albert youth residence (three staff and one youth inmate).

Correctional Service Canada does not report active staff cases, but with respect to inmates at Saskatchewan Penitentiary and the Willow Cree Healing Centre, there were as of Tuesday no active cases.
