North Stars next three games postponed, as team pauses activities due to COVID

Just days after rescheduling their make-up games versus Flin Flon and Nipawin for early next week, the Battlefords North Stars have announced the team has now been sidelined due to COVID.

Due to multiple positive cases reported on the team Thursday, the Stars will be forced to halt all team activities for at least the next five days, meaning their games Saturday at Melville, Monday versus Flin Flon and Tuesday versus Nipawin will now be postponed to a later date still TBD.

Head coach of the team, Brayden Klimosko said the results came as a surprise.

“We felt like we’ve been fortunate to be healthy throughout this season, but we had a couple of guys go down yesterday and a couple more positive cases today obviously unexpected, so with multiple cases we now need to shut it down for at least five days,” he said.

With the newest wave of postponements, the North Stars are now scheduled to return to play next weekend, Jan. 29 versus Kindersley.

The NAPA Auto Parts North Stars Hockey Broadcast will be available on 1050 CJNB. The Ultra Print Pregame Show will begin at 7 p.m., with puck drop at 7:30 p.m.
