The Prince Albert Northern Bears couldn’t find an upset victory this weekend against the top-ranked team in the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League, the Regina Rebels.

The Rebels beat the Bears with a pair of 5-1 scorelines Saturday and Sunday at the Art Hauser Centre.

Bears goaltender Brooke Archer was under fire throughout Saturday’s contest, as she made 43 saves to keep her Bears as close as possible in the game, and was named as the game’s first star. Erin Kirkland scored the lone goal for the Bears. Megan Hayhurst had a two-goal, four-point night to lead the charge for the Rebels.

On Sunday, Paige Fischer made 23 saves on Sunday in the defeat, with Sasha Malenfant scoring the lone Bears’ goal. Alexis Petford scored a hat trick to lead the Rebels offensively on Sunday.
