Drugs, weapons seized during four-person arrest

Meadow Lake RCMP have charged four people following the response to an assault report that also resulted in the seizure of drugs and weapons.

On Jan. 27, police received a disturbance call for an apartment building on Sixth Ave West in Meadow Lake where they determined a suspect entered an apartment building and sprayed an individual with bear mace before entering one of the units. The victim suffered effects from the mace, but was not seriously injured.

Officers entered the unit and arrested four individuals and observed an illegally-modified firearm and a small amount of methamphetamine, the later located on one of those arrested. The RCMP obtained and executed a search warrant and seized the firearm, some ammunition, 56 grams of methamphetamine, bear mace, a baton, edged weapons, drug paraphernalia and cash.

As a result, 28-year-old Kelsey Gladue and 18-year-old Kenton Bouvier of Meadow Lake, 28-year-old Owen Misponas of Beauval and 35-year-old Gerald Sinclair of Green Lake face multiple criminal charges. This includes:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine);
  • Possession of a firearm with readily accessible ammunition without a license;
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm without a license;
  • Three counts of unsafe storage of a firearm/weapon;
  • Three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon without a license.

In addition, Bouvier is charged for assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited. Sinclair also faces three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited and was arrested on warrants from the Green Lake RCMP. Misponas was also arrested on warrants from Saskatoon Police Service.

All four individuals charged are scheduled to appear in court in Meadow Lake on Jan. 31.
