CEO of Victoria Hospital Foundation stepping down

Under her leadership, the Foundation raised $5 Million for the construction and equipment for the new Malhotra NICU which will open later this year.

“This new space will make an incredible difference to the care of fragile babies from across north-central Saskatchewan,” the release reads. “The Foundation wishes to thank Sherry for the commitment made to the foundation, and for her years of dedicated service to the community, the donors, and the mission of the Victoria Hospital Foundation.”

She acknowledged that she didn’t achieve those goals on her own.

“When I reflect back on the last eight years, I can only think of how fortunate I am and how lucky I am to have worked in an environment with so many passionate, caring people and with such a wonderful board and staff that I just feel extremely fortunate.”

“I always say it takes a village and it was done together in partnership and friendship with our community, with our donors, with our volunteers and with our medical staff.”

“Certainly, she will be missed in the community for her contributions in so many ways and we wish her the best in her new career,” said Chair of the Board of Directors for the Foundation, Lyle Karasiuk.

The Board has already started a search process and will make an announcement when a new CEO has been selected. Meanwhile, Bruce Acton, former CEO of St Paul’s Hospital Foundation in Saskatoon will be the interim CEO, effective March 7.
