Night Raiders up for 11 Canadian Screen Awards

Danis Goulet’s Night Raiders is up for 11 nominations at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards.

Night Raiders has been nominated for best motion picture, best performance for an actress in a leading role for Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers, best performance by an actress is a supporting role for Gail Maurice, and achievements in casting, costume, make-up, sound mixing and visual effects.

Goulet is up for achievement in direction, original screenplay and the John Dunning Best First Feature Film Award.

Goulet travelled to La Ronge in December to screen her film at the Kikinahk Friendship Centre. The movie is about a Cree mother and daughter on the run in 2043. The mother joins an underground band of vigilantes to try and rescue her daughter from a state-run institution.

Night Raiders appeared in theatres across Canada and select locations in the United States and is available to rent on on-demand platforms.

In September 2021, Goulet received the Emerging Talent Award from the Toronto International Film Festival.

The 2022 Canadian Screen Awards is scheduled for April 10.
