Seven North Stars named to SJHL/MJHL Showcase roster

Seven members of the Battlefords North Stars were among those recognized Friday night, as the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) announced their ‘on paper’ rosters for the annual SJHL/MJHL Joint-Showcase.

While this year’s tournament in Winnipeg (Jan 25-26) was ultimately cancelled last month due to COVID, Stars forwards Jake Southgate, Holden Doell, Dylan Esau, and Steven Kesslering; defencemen Tynan Ewart and Jordan Grill; and goaltender Michael Harroch were among those elected to represent Saskatchewan, had the tournament have taken place.

An annual event featuring the top college-eligible players from both the Saskatchewan and Manitoba junior leagues, rosters for the SJHL’s three teams are determined based on highest average placement within a comprehensive ranking of players done by each of the league’s 12 teams’ staff.
