North Stars within one point of 3rd place in SJHL standings after win in Kindersley

The Battlefords North Stars are now one point away from clinching third place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, after they doubled up the Kindersley Klippers 4-2 Saturday night at the West Central Events Center in Kindersley.

If the North Stars avoid a regulation loss on Monday against the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox for their final regular season game, the North Stars will move up to third place and face the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

A win, overtime loss or shootout defeat would all get the job done.

A regulation loss would mean the North Stars would stay in fourth place and face the Flin Flon Bombers.

Bradley Blake continued his goal-scoring tear, as he now has four goals in his last three games. He scored on a quick release in the second period.

Defenceman Wilson Steele has four goals on the year, but has scored in back to back games. Dylan Esau and Emmett Wurst also scored for the North Stars.

Austin Schwab made 20 saves on 22 shots, a day after making 48 saves of 49 shots in a 4-1 win over the Flin Flon Bombers.
