Annual city-wide spring club registration night to be held Thursday
Melfort and area residents are eager to finally fill their calendars with various athletic and artistic opportunities among other endeavours.
The first city-wide spring club registration night since the pandemic began takes place Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kerry Vickar Centre. Melfort city manager Adam Homes said opportunities for extracurricular activities abound.
“For a community of our size, we have a lot of fantastic activities going on from the aquatics club at the pool to things like fencing or even Toast Masters for professionals who want to learn more about leadership. There are tons of different activities in our community and this is a great opportunity to come out and learn about those clubs.”
From a calligraphy and artist club to wood carvers, quilting and Taekwondo, Homes said there is something for everyone. He anticipates interest will be even more significant than the city-wide registration night from the fall as residents, free of COVID restrictions, look forward to getting back to the lifestyles they had pre-pandemic. And since many residents don’t know about all of the clubs available in the city, Homes said it’s also a good opportunity to find a new sport or hobby.
