Big River man arrested in Spiritwood

A man is in custody after he refused to provide his name to police. An outstanding warrant was out for his arrest.

On April 6 at approximately 2 a.m., Spiritwood RCMP received the call of a suspicious person at a business in Spiritwood.

Officers located Tyson Lachance in a vehicle outside of the business. After he refused to provide his name, officers were able to confirm his identity and determine that he was wanted on warrants from Big River RCMP.

Officers located a small amount of methamphetamine during the arrest.

Lachance, 22, of Big River First Nation was charged with:

  • one count, resist/obstruct peace officer;
  • one count, possession (methamphetamine).

Tyson Lachance will next appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on April 11.
