BUH Foundation Monthly Lottery sees early sellout, hits 50/50 record

The Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation has seen another early sellout for their monthly lottery while registering a record-high for their 50/50 draw.

The 29^th Annual BUH Foundation Monthly Lottery ran February 14 to April 5, with this year’s funds allocated towards the purchase of a Phototherapy (PUVA) Unit for use in therapy services at the hospital.

In addition, another $10,525 was also raised from the Monthly Lottery Ask (a donation in addition to the purchase of a ticket and 50/50 enhancements) for a Blanket Warming Cabinet that will be used in Ambulatory Care at the Battlefords Union Hospital as well.

Executive director with the BUH Foundation, Leanne Ducommun said the support shown again this year by the community goes a long way.

“The foundation has been very fortunate, we have a lot of loyal supporters and we have had a sell out for the last few years,” Ducommun said. “This has definitely been one of our better years of an earlier sell-out and one of the highest 50/50 numbers we’ve ever had as well.”

Draws will begin with the Early Bird prize of $1,000 on Thursday, April 14, followed by the Previous Purchaser prize of $1,000 on Friday, April 22 for those who have purchased within the last three years.

Regular monthly draws will begin on Friday, April 29, with the largest 50/50 Enhancement draw in Monthly Lottery history also that day, featuring a take-home prize of $15,935.
