Businesses are stepping up to help support the search for missing five-year-old Frank Young.

Cris Walker, owner of Family Bakery in Nipawin, said store owners have always had a close relationship with the communities of Shoal Lake and Red Earth Cree Nation.

“They support us all the time so we want to be there to support them when they need it,” Walker said.

The search for the missing boy has now stretched past 48 hours.

Walker said the store sent donations of bread to help feed searchers on Wednesday and another batch is planned to be sent Thursday.

For Walker, hearing about the missing boy was “heartbreaking.”

“I have a young one at home, too, about the same age and I can’t imagine the feeling of the family and the whole community,” she said.
