Forest Grove apartment fire being investigated as possible arson

Apr 26, 2022 | 2:00 PM

A recent apartment building fire in Prince Albert that displaced several people is being investigated for arson.

Back on March 22, the Forest Grove apartment on Dunn Drive caught on fire with flames and heavy smoke seen coming from the roof and rear of the building.

Half of the building was severely damaged; however, it’s entirely uninhabitable as the sections that weren’t hit by flames were still impacted by smoke and water.

The P.A. police service confirmed they are still trying to determine the exact cause, however, at this time they are investigating the fire as an arson.

From January to March, there were six other confirmed arson cases. The targets included two residences, two vehicles, and two garbage bins.

This doesn’t include the fire at Senator Allen Bird Memorial Centre which happened earlier in April. PAPS has since charged 24-year-old Gina Pearl Beatty with arson. Her next court date is May 5th.
