Sask. Baseball HOF readies for annual Spring Fling barbecue

May 10, 2022 | 4:54 PM

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is getting set to fire up the barbecue this Friday for their fourth annual Spring Fling fundraiser.

Taking place May 13 at the Legion Hall in Battleford, happy hour will begin at 4:30 p.m., with barbecue dinner to follow from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and games, door prizes and raffle available as well throughout the evening.

A staple of the spring season for the Hall and Museum, tickets to attend cost $20 and must be purchased in advance to be picked up at the Baseball Hall of Fame during office hours (weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) prior to Thursday at noon. This is to give an idea of estimated numbers for those attending for food quantities.

All proceeds from the evening will go towards operational costs with the Hall of Fame and Museum.

President and CEO, Jane Shury said this marks the first year since the pandemic they will be able to have a fundraising event like this for the community to enjoy.

“This is one of our annual events we’ve been unable to have [in recent years] because of COVID,” Shury said. “It’s nothing formal or anything, just a nice night out in support of our Baseball Museum, so we’re looking forward to it and hoping to see lots of people out to support and have some fun.”

Games will include a classic beanbag toss and table tennis, among other things. For more information, contact the Sask. Baseball Hall of Fame at (306) 446-1983.
