Deschambault Lake man esapes RCMP custody

UPDATE: The RCMP have reported on May 12 McCallum was located and arrested.

Deschambault Lake RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an adult male who escaped police custody.

According to an RCMP media release, Keith McCallum, 22, escaped police custody at approximately 6:30 p.m. on May 4 when he fled on foot when being escorted to a parked police vehicle. Keith was in court to address numerous charges including theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, break and enter, and failure to comply.

McCallum has been additionally charged with one count of escaping lawful custody and warrant has been issued for his arrest. Deschambault Lake RCMP is actively working to find and arrest him.

McCallum is described as approximately 5’8” tall and 140 lbs. He has black chin-length hair often pulled back in a ponytail and brown eyes. McCallum is known to frequent the community of Pelican Narrows.
