RCMP responding to collision on Highway 4

UPDATED as of 3:06 p.m. on May 25: Meadow Lake RCMP have notified the public that the 48-year-old driver and lone occupant of the semi was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and is being done with the assistance from a Saskatchewan RCMP traffic reconstructionist.

Meadow Lake RCMP responded to the collision on Highway 4 about 30 kilometres south of the City of Meadow Lake.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on May 24, police received a report of a semi rollover on the highway. The semi was hauling diesel fuel at the time of the single-vehicle rollover.

Drivers in the area were delayed as the road remained closed for the next several hours.

Traffic was rerouted on Highway 304 south of Meadow Lake and on Highway 26 north of North Battleford.

The detour was approximately 73 km in length.
