The usual suspects are in the lead after one week of chuck wagon racing.

Yorkton hosted the first stop of the 2022 Tour for the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA), where St. Walburg’s Jamie Laboucane came out on top. The veteran driver took day money for the first two days with an aggregate time of 3:13:16.

Roughly a second back of Laboucane was 2019 CPCA champion Todd Baptiste of Red Pheasant Cree Nation, followed by Meadow Lake’s Logan Gorst, the current champ. Another former tour winner, Devin Mitsuing, who’s returned to driving, rounded out the top four.

Next stop for the CPCA season is in Poundmaker Cree Nation, June 15–19. More information is available on the CPCA website.
