Forty graduates recognized at Northlands College tech and trades ceremony

Hard work paid off for 40 Northlands College students attending the 2022 tech and trades graduation ceremony.

The ceremony was held Tuesday at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre and included various dignitaries, as well as a toast to instructors and fellow graduates from Robin Charles. Interim president and CEO Chandra McDougald made the closing remarks.

“Today we got to shine a light on students who have persevered and faced challenges this past year, and despite these challenges, graduates, you have shown us you are resilient and you can rise above any challenge,” she said. “Northlands College wants each of you to know that you will always be welcomed here and we are looking forward to hearing about your professional achievements.”

The 2022 Northlands College tech and trades graduates are:

  • Automotive Services Technician Certificate: Kiana Bird, Robin Charles, Shari Janvier, Steven Lariviere and Ozzy McLeod;
  • Applied Carpentry Certificates: Dillon Adam, Rick Gaudet and Andrew Parsons;
  • Carpentry Certificates: Terri Booth, Brenda Chartier, Rayden Joseyounen, Noah McKenzie, Kaylene Newsom, Jerry Ratt, Jody Richards and Susan Simpson;
  • Continuing Care Assistant Certificates: Chloe Bear, Sarah Charles, Katlyn Highway and Brian Linklater;
  • Certificates in First Nations Child Care: Lacey Durocher, Shelby Iron, Julia Lariviere, Sherri Lariviere, Sophia Lariviere, Mya McCallum, Billie Natomagan, Fiona Natomagan, Jennifer Ross and Faith Smith. All these graduates are from Pinehouse Lake;
  • Office Administration Certificates: Destiny Forest, Samantha Isbister, Theresa Lariviere, Jadene Misponas, Joanna Misponas, Gena Natomagan, Melvina Natomagan and Alanis Ratt;
  • Mineral Exploration Technique certificates: Jordan Roberts and Janna Sanderson.
