Churchill hosts 2022 grad ceremony
It’s the start of a new chapter for 42 graduates of La Ronge’s Churchill Community High School who received their diplomas on Saturday.
Hundreds of people attended a graduation ceremony held at the Mel Hegland Uniplex to celebrate the special occasion. The event included speeches by staff, students, and dignitaries, as well as the rose presentation to honour parents or other family members who impacted the graduate’s lives.
Principal Scott Tomporowski told those who attended that the words “resilient” and “adaptable” come to mind when he thinks of the 2022 graduates. He said they had to learn to maneuver through a pandemic and learn how to complete school work online.
“They have overcome many obstacles to get where they are and each person has their own story to tell,” Tomporowski stated. “Some will move on to further school, some will work, some will travel and some are undecided what they want to do. The staff at CCHS and your families have prepared you well to make those decisions. All of our students on stage today are amazing people who have overcome so much.”
