A 13-year-old boy is facing a number of gun-related charges in connection to an incident in La Ronge last Thursday.
Just before 2 p.m., RCMP received a report of an armed person at a home on Elders Road. Officers were able to determine there was no immediate risk to public safety and through their investigation, learned the suspect was illegally possessing and transferring firearms.
The charges include four counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, as well as unlicensed possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence, and unauthorized transfer of a firearm.
The youth is scheduled to appear at La Ronge Provincial Court on Sept. 12.
