Updated water supply systems added to LLRPP campgrounds

Sask Parks has upgraded the drinking water supply systems at Nut Point, Wadin Bay and Nemeiben Lake campgrounds in the Lac La Ronge Provincial Park.

That’s according to an email sent to larongeNOW from the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport. It notes the new system involves hauling potable water from La Ronge to a storage reservoir at each location, which is now pumped through an upgraded distribution system to individual facilities.

“Sask Parks is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our visitors and we continue to maintain a high standard of service,” the email stated.

It added the new system is more efficient and safe for park visitors. For example, Neimeben Lake and Nut Point campgrounds are no longer on long-standing drinking water advisories.

“As with any water treatment system, there is the occasional equipment issue or power outage that can disrupt service,” the emails noted. “Recently a pump cut out at the Nemeiben Campground, but our staff had it back up and running within an hour.”
