CPCA tour continues in Little Pine First Nation
The Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA) returns this weekend in Little Pine First Nation.
Following more than a week of racing for drivers competing at the Calgary Stampede or the North American Chuckwagon Championship (NACC), the 2022 season is now entering the second half, with plenty of cash and standings points up for grabs. The next three days of competition are the first of five remaining stops this summer.
Fresh off of a top four finish at the NACC, where he competed against his brother, Meadow Lake’s Logan Gorst sits first in the CPCA standings with 549 points. The 2021 champion has remained the most consistent driver on tour, but has stiff competition ahead of him.
Veteran driver Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg remains the other mainstay. He’s just 2.5 points back of Gorst for first and is coming off another great NACC performance where he defended his aggregate title from last year. Laboucane has consistently made the year-end final dash, or been close, but has never been able to pull off the victory.
