The future is looking bright at the Art Hauser Centre as day three of Prince Albert Raiders training camp continued Saturday.

Returning players and new draftees alike are feeling the excitement of the upcoming season, including veteran player Evan Herman who shared his thoughts about his final year.

“I’m here to lead by example and I’m here to win,” he said. “That’s my main goal is to win.”

For some of the young guns like Cole Peardon, this is their first time at Raiders training camp.

Peardon was P.A’s first-round draft pick back in 2021 and, because of COVID, was unable to attend camp. So now with the opportunity to make the team, he’s looking to make the most of his time on the ice.

“I’m here to show everybody what I can do,” he said. “I’m working my hardest out there and giving it the best I got.”

As for how training camp is going, the two shared some of their thoughts about their camp experience.

“It’s been fun,” said Herman. “It’s always awesome to see the young talent and to see what the future hold. It’s been nice meeting people and there’s not a bad kid at this camp.”

“It’s been awesome and a lot of fun,” said Peardon. “It’s some good competition and awesome to meet some of the new guys and the vets.”

Raiders camp wraps up on Sunday with their annual White and Green game. Pre-season action begins on Tuesday in Big River.
