Free admission at Western Development Museum Saturday
There will be no charge to visit the Western Development Museum in North Battleford this Saturday. Tomorrow is the second of two free admission days that happen twice per year. Free admission day is made possible through a provincial sponsorship with BMO. Along with WDM’s North Battleford location, admission is free at their Yorkton, Moose Jaw, and Saskatoon locations.
Andrea White with WDM’s visitor services said the free admission day will be a great time to check out all the museum has to offer. With the weather forecast calling for sun this weekend, White added it will be a great time to explore the outdoor village; a collection of historic buildings including a grain elevator, bank, and a doctor’s office.
A new temporary exhibit just opened, called “Hiding in Plain Sight: Discovering the Metis Nation in Archival Records at Library and Archives Canada.” The exhibit explores Metis history by examining documents and artifacts found in the national archives.
WDM will be open today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
