Alleged arsonist denied second chance at freedom
A woman accused of setting the fire that destroyed the Senator Allen Bird gym will remain in custody after being denied bail.
Gina Pearl Beatty, 24, appeared by video for her bail hearing Monday at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
On the morning of April 15, the Prince Albert Fire Department was called to the Senator Allen Bird building, and at least two trucks were observed hosing water on the roof on the south side of the building. Despite all their efforts, the building was a total loss.
Since being arrested, Beatty was initially released on May 24 but arrested three weeks later after breaching one of her bail conditions.
