Golf season wrapping up in La Ronge after successful year
The number of golfers playing at Eagle Point Resort this summer has returned to pre-COVID levels.
That’s according to owner Lolita Poirier, who said the business was able to host its annual tournaments and return a sense of normalcy as well.
“Post-COVID, people are wanting to get back to gathering together, so there was certainly more meals had together after tournaments and awards and that kind of thing, where in the past couple of years, we kind of skipped that part,” she said.
Poirier noted some of the highlights of the summer included the Woodland Cree and ladies tournaments, both held in August. The Woodland Cree tournament served as a fundraiser for the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre, while the ladies’ tournament had a higher turnout than previous years with more than 50 participants.
