Oct 8, 2022 | 4:42 PM

The Prince Albert Mintos completed the comeback on Saturday, shocking the Moose Jaw Windmar Warriors 3-2 at Moose Jaw Events Centre.

The Mintos trailed by one going into the third, but strong defense allowed the offence to go to work and score two late game markers.

Carson Olsen earned the games away star for his performance, netting himself the game-winning goal in the dying minutes of the game. Owen Nelson and Logan Beebe also found the back of the net in the contest, while Owen Dyck, Roper Blanchard, Konnor Watson, Logan Pickford, and Jayden Kraus each potted assists.

For the Warriors, Connor Miller earned the home star in the game for his two-goal afternoon. Liam Fitzpatrick managed to grab himself two assists while Ryder Knutson and Caleb Potter each had one.

Mintos netminder Jayden Kraus stopped 36 of 38 shots to earn the win and help P.A. improve to 3-0-0-0 on the campaign.

Warriors goalie Ryan Bain was credited with the loss and made 20 saves in the contest as Moose Jaw falls to 2-2-0-1 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

An evenly fought first period ended up in Moose Jaw’s favour after Miller slotted it home to give the Warriors the early lead.

Second period was a bit different as both teams found the back of the net on the powerplay. P.A.’s Nelson managed to score with just under five minutes to go in the frame to tie it, but the Warriors would enter the intermission with the lead. With just 46 seconds on the clock, Miller ripped a shot past Kraus to put Moose Jaw back on top.

The third period was all business for the Mintos. Beebe scored on the powerplay just five minutes in to tie it. Then, in the dying minutes of the game, Olsen took a pass from Kraus on the man advantage and found twine on his shot to put the game away for P.A. to extend the winning streak to three games.

A quick turnaround for the Mintos as they’re off to Regina where they will face the Pat Canadians tomorrow afternoon at the Co-operators Arena.
