Oct 8, 2022 | 9:54 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Prince Albert Raiders had a tough time getting their offense going Saturday night, falling to the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1 at the Enmax Centre.

The loss comes 24 hours after falling 5-4 to the Swift Current Broncos in overtime.

Nolan Allan was the lone goal scorer on Saturday and notched his first goal of the season in the contest, netting his third point in as many games since being named the Raiders captain back on Tuesday.

Logan Wormald, Miguel Marques, and Cole Shepard each found the back of the net in the game while Noah Chadwick had two assists and Anton Astashevic, Dustin Renas, Tyson Zimmer, and Chase Pauls each had one.

Raiders netminder Tikhon Chaika made 34 save in the loss as P.A. now falls to 2-4-2-0 on the campaign.

Hurricanes goalie Jared Picklyk turned aside 19 of 20 shots as Lethbridge now sits with a 3-3-0-0 record on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

An unfortunate start for the Raiders came just five minutes into the game when Wormald put the puck home from in tight to give Lethbridge the 1-0 lead after one.

P.A. got off to a great start in the second period, scoring just 57 seconds in. Allan let a shot go from the point and went bar-down on Picklyk to tie it up.

But midway through the frame and things started to go downhill for the green and gold. The Raiders would give up two goals in the back half of the period, the first being from Marques who found twine from a sharp angle. The second was via a deflection by Shepard in front as the Hurricanes led 3-1 after two.

A scary moment for the Raiders in opening moments of the third. Hurricanes’ Jett Jones and Raiders’ Evan Herman had a knee-on-knee collision at centre ice that forced Herman to leave the game with an apparent right leg injury. Herman was unable to skate and walk under his own power and had to be helped to the dressing room. Jones was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for kneeing.

The Raiders were unable to get anything going despite the extra-long powerplay and Prince Albert fell 3-1 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

P.A. now heads to the Queen City on Wednesday night to close out their three-game road trip against the Regina Pats.
