Mintos shut out by Stars in Wednesday night hockey action

Oct 13, 2022 | 11:21 AM

The Prince Albert Mintos are looking to the road ahead after being shut out by the Battlefords Stars on Wednesday.

Dayne Henry led with the way with two goals while Matthew Ofukany stopped 21 shots to propel the Stars to a 5-0 win.

Despite the tough loss, Mintos Head Coach Tim Leonard said they just have to move forward.

“We got to learn,” he said. “This is the toughest league in Canada and every night if you want any success, you gotta work. Hopefully, we learn from it and move on.”

Leonard gave credit to the Stars for their performance from the first minute of the game to the final second, adding it’s that work ethic he hopes to instill in his players.

“There’s a lot of new faces in the lineup and they’re gonna have to learn that every night’s a battle and we got to show up,” he said.

The Mintos hit the road again for their next game on Friday as they take on the Tisdale Trojans.
