Sturgeon Lake senior girls finish first at home tournament

Over the weekend, Sturgeon Lake Central School hosted a senior boys and girls volleyball tournament.

Sturgeon Lake Lakers won the senior girls division, defeating Montreal Lake in a close three set final. PACI won the Senior boys division, defeating LLRIB Senator Myles Venne in their respective final.

Eric Gardiner, the school’s physical education teacher, explained they had a total of nine teams competing in the two divisions.

“Overall it was a great tournament. The competition was awesome to watch. It was our first tournament here at our school in two years,” he said.
