Harmonious Intellect Hypnotherapy

Demystifying Hypnotherapy

Oct 20, 2022 | 1:40 PM

I am a Saskatchewan based hypnotherapist, certified through the national Guild of Hypnotists and have been trained under Amanda Smytaniuk.

I have learned how to use the power of hypnosis to assist clients in learning how to control their thoughts, heal themselves and begin to live the lives they have always dreamed of.

Hypnosis can be used as a meaningful tool of empowerment assisting individuals with many issues preventing them from living the life they desire.

My Areas of Focus:

  • Weight Management – Craving Control
  • Anxiety – Stress
  • Fertility – Sexual Dysfunction
  • Memory Loss – Concentration – Mind Clutter
  • Smoking Cessation – Addictions
  • Letting Go – Past Traumas
  • Pain Management
  • Insomnia
  • Obsessions – Phobia Relief
  • Self Sabotage – Insecurities – Confidence Issues
  • Law of Attraction
  • Self Love

And Much Much More!

I made the decision to become a hypnotherapist after having a hypnotherapy session performed on me.

After my session I felt so peaceful, and I wondered if I could do this?

I love helping people, I’ve aways believed if we help each other, we are better fulfilled and what a great feeling… helping people better their lives. That’s when I made my decision to become a hypnotherapist so here I am, happy with my work and what I can do for others for the first time in a long time.

When I first got hypnotized, I felt such relaxation.

This surprised me actually, because I was awake and aware of everything and was nothing like what I perceived it to be, compared to what I’ve seen on TV where the hypnotist can get people to do silly things… like bark like a dog or jump on one-foot hahaha.

I honestly thought I would be “out” and wake up refreshed and everything would be different. Well, what an amazing experience!

I was completely aware of everything, and still had success. I’ve had many more sessions since and now the ability I have to relax and heal and change what I need to in myself is so wonderful. I feel at peace now. Even my friends and family have noticed a huge change in me. I love it!

“Hypnosis is a natural state of trance where one is open to suggestions” this is achieved through a guided self-hypnosis.

By using a guided relaxation, concentration and focused attention, you can achieve a heightened state of awareness that is sometime called a “trance”.

Once in a state of trance or hypnosis, you are better able to respond to suggestions. For example: self-hypnosis can help change certain behaviors like over eating, smoking, nail biting, it can also help in changing perceptions and sensations, pain treatments, anxiety …. The list goes on and on…

In my first session as I said I was totally aware, although I still expected that being hypnotized meant that something would happen to me that was out of my control, that I wouldn’t remember and when I woke up everything would be different but it is not like that at all.

In fact, I was aware of every word, I was in control. You see suggestions are given as per your needs. So, I was relaxed my body felt heavy but like I was on a cloud of comfort. When my hypnotherapist emerged me (guided me out of hypnosis) I felt wonderfully relaxed and still remembered everything.

Also, all sessions are recorded. this way you can listen to them afterwards. I suggest you do, as this will empower your sessions for healing what you need or want to heal or change for yourself.

The conscious mind is in the here and now… conscious mind thinks about things right here in the present moment. You are conscious of what is happening what you are learning at this moment.

The subconscious mind is stored memories. The subconscious mind has control over physical functions, repetitious actions. For example: driving… if you take the same route often you remember how to get there without a map, how to operate the vehicle without being taught again. Cooking, you remember how to make a sandwich or flip an egg, make toast etc. all this memory recall is in your subconscious mind.

Also, your memories, beliefs, attitudes, even personality traits are all stored in your subconscious mind since birth. Everything you have learned, everything in your past memories is stored in your subconscious mind.

Visualization is a key component of hypnotic work.

It’s also one of the main areas where people think that they are doing it wrong or that it just isn’t working. As a matter of fact, visualization is probably one of the least exploited abilities the human mind possesses. Many of us are visual learners. Therefore, when it comes to self-hypnosis and using the vast power of creative visualization to create positive change, the visualization needs to come from within your own mind. Rather than pictures or videos.

We all visualize, it’s as simple as wanting something. For example: dinner, we visualize in our own mind what we want, a salad for instance, we can see the salad we want in our minds. Or when you describe something like your home, you can see it in your own way in your mind as your describing it. By emphasizing that ability and working with visualization directly we can magnify the power of the suggestions many times. There is little that can beat the creative visualization when it is combined with self-hypnosis.

When someone wants to stop biting their nails for example: they will more readily accept the suggestions by creating a vivid image of elegantly tapered fingers and beautifully manicured nails. Once again there is little that can beat creative visualization when combined with self-hypnosis.

Give me a call or email and we can move forward to a more peaceful life for you.
