Buckland Fire & Rescue is a member owned co-operative, volunteer fire & emergency services department serving the Rural Municipality of Buckland #491.

Buckland Fire & Rescue is searching for the right individual to lead our team of approximately 30 plus volunteer firefighters.

The Fire Chief is responsible for the operations of the Buckland Fire Department. Applicants interested in the position that have any questions or that would like a copy of Fire Chief Roles and Responsibilities, can email info@bucklandfire.com.

The successful candidate will possess strong managerial and communication skills, preferably with significant fire department experience; be able to work effectively with the existing team; as well as, be able to liaise with other local organizations to assure efficient and effective service to the community.

This is a three year term position, with compensation equivalent to approximately eight to ten hours per week.

Any hours over and above that are generally on a volunteer basis unless otherwise approved.

The candidate must demonstrate the following personal attributes:

• Maintain professionalism when acting with board members and other agencies
Desired Qualifications/ Competencies Include but not limited to
• Level I & II Firefighter
• At least five years experience within the fire service;
• Demonstrated competence and extensive practical experience in using Command System for emergency incidents.
