ESTEVAN, SK – The Prince Albert Mintos lost a tough one on Saturday night, falling just short to the Estevan Bears 4-3 at Affinity Place.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

Logan Pickford and Caden Dunn scored in the opening frame for PA which helped them secure a 2-1 lead after the first period.

The Bears would put up more of a fight in second and actually come out of the period with a goal to tie the game heading into the third.

Things began to pick up about five minutes in where Estevan’s Kole Keen would find twine to put the Bears on top. The Mintos would reply later on in the period when Roper Blanchard would score to even things up yet again.

But in the end, Estevan would get the last laugh when Carter Onrait potted a short-handed goal with just three minutes to go to seal the 4-3 victory for the Bears.

Both Pickford and Blanchard managed to also snag assists in the contest while Abinet Klassen had two, and Carson Olsen found the scoresheet with one.

Jayden Kraus managed 24 stops in the loss for PA as the Mintos now fall below .500 at 4-5-0-0 on the campaign.

Bears netminder Kaden Perron made 34 saves on 37 shots to help Estevan improve to 2-8-0-1 on the year.

The Mintos won’t have to wait long for their chance at revenge when the two will rematch Sunday afternoon at 2:30.
