Morgan wins it in OT, Ice Wolves make it three in a row

LA RONGE, SK – The La Ronge Ice Wolves won their third game in a row on Saturday night, outlasting the Notre Dame Hounds 3-2 in overtime at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.

Ryley Morgan was the overtime hero for the Wolves, scoring just two minutes into the extra frame. Kale Taylor also lit the lamp in the contest while Lleyton Shearon scored his first in the SJHL.

Ethan Strik led the Wolves in assists by netting two while Liam McInnis and Parker Layton each had one.

For the Hounds, it was Carson Baylis and Jaryd Sych who found the back of the net while Mathieu Fehr was the lone assist getter with two.

La Ronge netminder Dawson Smith stopped 31 shots on the way to the win, helping the Ice Wolves improve to 8-5-1-0 on the year.

Ashton Billesberger took the loss in net for Notre Dame, managing 40 saves as the Hounds fall to 5-7-1-1 this season.

The Ice Wolves are back at home for their next matchup where they will welcome the Melville Millionaires to the Mel Hegland Uniplex on Tuesday night.
