Air Ronge reallocates $50,000 to address Heritage Trail repairs
Air Ronge council has reallocated $50,000 from the recreation budget for improvements to the Heritage Trail.
“The immediate work we have been doing is in places where it needs repairs and some upgrades,” administrator Gavin Willins said. “Our main focus is on the safety aspect of those places.”
Matt Preston of Preston Trail Consulting was hired to complete the work, which started about three weeks ago. Work is currently underway at the trail entrance by Waco Drive going outwards to Bigstone Lake, where Preston explained three boardwalks have already been replaced.
Preston noted work on the trail could continue for the next couple of weeks until freeze up.
