Saskatoon Blades forward and Carrot River product Jayden Wiens has been listed as being out indefinitely after suffering a lower-body injury earlier this month.

According to a release from the club, Wiens suffered the injury on Dec. 10 in Prince Albert against the Raiders during the first period.

General Manager of the Blades Colin Priestner said that he hopes to see him back on the ice as soon as he’s healthy.

“Jayden is the heart and soul of our team and we are optimistic he will return to play this season,” he said. “No one will work harder to rehab than him and he’s very focused on getting back on the ice with his teammates as soon as possible. In the meantime, other younger players will get enhanced opportunities to fill the role Jayden holds with us.”
