The man accused of killing 51-year-old Sharon Littlewolfe on Christmas Eve was under a court-issued order to stay away from her.

The Alberta Provincial Court confirmed that a no contact or communication order was issued to Brian McLeod to stay more than 25 metres away from Littlewolfe while in Alberta.

In Saskatchewan, McLeod is charged with second degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of property obtained by crime.

In Alberta, he is also facing charges of assault, unlawful confinement, obstructing a police officer and a traffic violation.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on December 5, 2022, his last scheduled court appearance in Alberta.

Littlewolfe was killed in Margo, near Wadena, on December 22. Her daughter who was living in the other half of the duplex she had just purchased was also attacked and her four-month-old son was injured.

According to a family member, Littlewolfe and McLeod had been in a relationship for about nine months and she bought the duplex on December 1.

McLeod remains in custody and will have his next Saskatchewan court appearance on Jan. 19 in Wadena.
