Mintos sweep weekend series on home ice against Bears
PRINCE ALBERT, SK – The Prince Albert Mintos pulled themselves back to 0.500 this past weekend after sweeping the Estevan Bears in back-to-back games at the Art Hauser Centre.
The Mintos fell behind quickly in their first contest on Saturday when the Bears scored twice in the opening period to lead 2-1 going into the intermission. The Bears added another early in the middle frame before PA flipped the script on Estevan where Van Taylor and Abinet Klassen each scored powerplay goals to tie it up going into the third. Only one lone goal was scored in the final period, which was done so by Owen Nelson to give the Mintos the win in game one by a 4-3 decision.
Carson Olsen was the other goal scorer for the Green and Gold while Ashton Tait had two helpers and Taylor and Roper Blanchard each had one.
