SASKATOON, SK – The Saskatoon Bananas scored a “bunch” of goals on Friday night, helping them down the Prince Albert Raiders 6-1 at the SaskTel Centre.

The Bananas scored four times in the opening twenty which included two goals from Misha Volotovskii and one from both Tanner Molendyk and Brandon Lisowsky. Egor Sidorov and Jordan Keller added two more in the second Saskatoon while six others tallied assists in the game.

Sloan Stanick had the lone twine tickler for the Raiders while Evan Herman and Seth Tansem each collected assists on the play.

Max Hildebrand and Tikhon Chaika combined for 24 saves in the game as PA falls to 15-25-3-0 on the campaign.

Ethan Chadwick made 17 stops for the win where Saskatoon improves to 28-9-3-1 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

It was a period to forget for the Raiders in the first where the Bananas nearly fed PA a fistful. Saskatoon hung four goals on the Raiders in the opening frame with two markers from Volotovskii and one each from Molendyk and Lisowsky. After the fourth was scored, Hildebrand was pulled for Chaika who finished the rest of the game.

Saskatoon added two more in the middle period, one by Sidorov at the start of the frame and the other by Keller at the end. But sandwiched between the pair of tallies was a midway marker from the Raiders courtesy of Stanick’s team leading 17th of the season where the Bananas led 6-1 going into the third.

Neither team found the back of the net in the third where the Raiders fell 6-1.

Prince Albert gets their shot at revenge Saturday night when game two of this home-and-home weekend against Saskatoon gets underway at 7pm inside the Art Hauser Centre.
