Mintos held off scoreboard in second straight contest, fall in Notre Dame

WILCOX, SK – The Prince Albert Mintos registered 31 shots on goal on Saturday afternoon but couldn’t find a way past Notre Dame netminder Mariko Bercier where the Hounds came away with a 3-0 win at the Duncan McNeill Arena.

The loss is the second in a row for the Mintos where they lost by the same score Friday night to the Regina Pat Canadiens.

The scoreless tie lasted well into the second when the Hounds broke the ice midway through the second. Kaden MacLean got the ball rolling before DJ Freigang added another for Notre Dame just a few minutes later. Joby Baumuller scored the third and final goal for the Hounds early in the third to round out the scoring. Tavynn Schlaht, Wyatt Davis, Danila Shiriaev, Carter Hynes, and Edouard Houde each collected assists in the game where Notre Dame improves to 19-7-0-2 on the year.

Mintos goalie Brady Holtvogt got the start for PA and made 16 saves in the loss where the Mintos fall to 14-16-0-2 on the campaign.

The Mintos continue their road trip into the Bridge City on Wednesday night where they will faceoff with the league-best Saskatoon Blazers inside Rod Hamm Memorial Arena. Puck drop is at 8pm.
