RCMP search for man who failed to appear in court for assault with a weapon charge

The Saskatchewan RCMP Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) is asking for the public’s assistance with locating 23-year-old Braden Ballantyne.

According to an RCMP media release issued Thursday, Ballantyne was charged on July 9, 2021 by Deschambault Lake RCMP for assault with a weapon.

He failed to appear for a court appearance and is now charged with failing to comply with a release order condition.

WEST is actively working to locate and arrest him and is asking the public to report information on his whereabouts.

Ballantyne is described as approximately 5-feet-8 inches tall and 145 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has burn scars on his left hand and forearm.

He may be in Deschambault Lake, but his current whereabouts are unknown. If the public sees Ballantyne, do not approach him.
